Digital business card

A card hands over your details. A window hands over your business.

Most digital business cards do one job well: share a name, a number and a link. My Shop Window does that too — and then keeps going, with your photographs, what you sell or do, and the routes to buy, book or ask.

The honest definition

What a digital business card usually is

A digital business card is a shareable version of the card you would have handed over in person. It normally holds a name, a job title, a phone number, an email address and perhaps one or two social profiles, and it is shared by link or by scanning a code.

It is a good answer to one question: how do I contact this person? It is a poor answer to the questions that usually come next — what exactly do you do, what does the work look like, what does it cost, and where do I buy or book?

My Shop Window is built to answer those. Your contact details sit on it, but so does the business itself.

Side by side

Contact details, or a business people can actually judge.

A typical digital business card

  • Name, role, phone, email, socials.
  • Designed to be handed over one to one.
  • Usually a save-to-contacts action at the end.
  • Little or no room to show the work.

A My Shop Window

  • An introduction to the business in your own words.
  • Photographs of the work, the products or the premises.
  • Services or products with prices where you want them.
  • Buy, book, message, call and social links in one place.
  • Designed and built for you — you send the content, we make it.

If you want the wider explanation of the idea, start with what a digital shop window is.

Where people use it

The places a business card would have gone.

In your Instagram bio

One address instead of a rotating list of links.

In your email signature

So a first enquiry can see the work immediately.

On a quote or invoice

A professional address next to your business name.

On a printed card

Print your Window address, or the QR code we generate.

On the van or the stall

Somewhere for passers-by to look you up later.

In a message

Send one link instead of five when someone asks.

Sharing works today by link and by QR code. Market traders tend to use both.

Being clear

What My Shop Window does not currently do.

No NFC cards or wallet passes

We do not currently supply tap-to-share cards or phone wallet passes. Your Window is shared by link and by QR code.

No contact-file download yet

There is no save-to-contacts file at the moment. Your phone number, email and messaging links are shown as tappable actions instead.

Not self-serve

You do not log in and drag things around. You send us the content and we design the Window for you.

Printed products are not live

Printed cards, signage and packaging are planned, not available. When they arrive we will say so plainly.

The commercial bit

One beautifully made window. One payment. No monthly subscription.

Packages start at £19. Online checkout isn't switched on yet, so every Shop Window begins with an enquiry — we agree the package, the price and the terms with you in writing before anything is built.
